Many camera clubs have pretty plain looking websites.
My guess is when they were first generated, a member who was technically inclined volunteered. The site was put together with the technology of the time and over time had pages added to accommodate the evolving needs of the club. As clubs operate with a shortage of volunteers, no one came forward to bring the site up to current day technology.
Sound familiar?

I ran across this website recently.
Clubs that have many events seem to dedicate their home page to describing and publicizing those.
Clubs looking to attract new members put it right out there!
So, the question becomes "What does the Teton Photography Club emphasize?". Or asked another way, "What is it known for (or want to be known for)?"
